The Snojets Ski and Social Club is very active all year
round! During the summer months there will usually be over thirty
activities a month scheduled. These include: Wednesday Night Dinners,
bike rides, softball and volleyball games, at least one rafting trip each
summer, and numberous other activities. The number of activities
decreases during the fall, winter, and spring, but the quality of the
activities is still the same. All of these activities are very well
attended.
However, as the Webmasters stated under the "Rafting" button to the left,
the last time one of our members wrote up the Snojet activities was way
back in 1999. The Webmasters presume the Snojets have so much fun doing
things they do not want to take the time to sit down and write about the
fun they had after the fact.

The following are a review of 1999 Sno Jet activities. They are over,
but the memories are still fresh, and they provide an overview of what Sno
Jets do.

What a time it was!!!! Twenty five Sno Jets taking command of the ship Norwegian Sea and commandeering it to Cancun, Cozumel, and Roatan on Oct. 24-31, 1999
What a party it was!!! And the entire trip only cost $886-$979 which included airfare from the Springs to Houston, port charges, and transfers.
This was definitely a deal and Sno Jets would do well to keep their eye open for future opportunities.
Call Ray or Kris Nordstrom at 591-0458 if you think you would like to be contacted should another adventure be planned.
This was a great way to vacation! We were treated like royalty! The food and service was unbelievable. The casino, shows, the deck views, the pools and hot tubs were incredible - with lots of fun activities and time to mingle.
The ship carried 1500 people, annd they all knew who we were by the end
of the week. The scuba diving and snorkeling at Cozumel was great! At
Roatan we swam with the dolphins at the sea park!

UCCS offered a free Comedy Night that included Spanky (34 TV appearances,
a regular on MTV & Showtime) and Al Ducharme. This was part of Spanky's
"Men are Slugs" Tour and Al is best known for his many Star Wars character
impressions. We laughed together all night!

We departed the Springs at 1:30 PM and traveled to the Santa Fe Depot in
Canon City for a two hour train ride through the bottom of the Royal Gorge.
The evening was topped off with dinner and entertainment at the Oak
Creek Grade General Store "Steakhouse". The cost of the train ride was $24.50.
The dinner choices were a 14oz. RIB STEAK for $16.95 or ROAST CHICKEN
Dinner for $13.95.

We sold 54 tickets for this match up of service academies. We had a
great Tailgate Potluck Party. We loved the Air Show. And we watched the
best game/air show of the year.

The SnoJets celebrated their annual tasty potluck feast on Turkey Day. Happy hour at 5:00, dinner at 6:30, hot-tub and leisurely conversations until....?
It was truly a day of thanksgiving!

Anybody can learn the West Coast Swing! We know because we did it! George Bradfield taught dance lessons on Monday nights at the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) at 6880 Palmer Park Blvd. (corner of Palmer Park and Peterson Rd.) And it was only $2 per person per lesson!
If you are interested in learning to dance this fall, call George
Bradfield 637-0361 or Paula Sollenberger 548-9591 and see what they have
cookin'!

Hey lets go dancing.....A small group of Sno-Jetter's started going to
Jupiter Moons (Academy and Briargate area) to do the East Coast Swing
thing - just like on those Gap commercials, yeah right. But anyway, it was
a lot of fun. There was a five dollar cover, but the lessons were free.

The Halloween Party on October 30th, and the Christmas Party on
December 17th were a great way to end the year.
