Please join us for our first summer hike scheduled for Saturday, July 7 in the North Cheyenne Canyon Park on the Westside above The Broadmoor and near Gold Camp Road. We will meet at 9:00am in the parking area of the Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center located at 2120 S. Cheyenne Canon Rd and will carpool from there to the parking area at the trailhead above Helen Hunt Falls. Parking in the upper lot is very limited, so carpooling is highly recommended. The hike will cover about 7 miles and take about 3 hours. With an elevation gain of a little over 1000', there are some sections rated as moderate while other stretches are considered easy. Great views in all directions are presented along the upper sections of Buckhorn Ridge and Upper Captain Jack's trails. Bring plenty of water and snacks, as well as an extra layer of clothing and some rain protection as the weather in this area is susceptible to changes.
This hike is open to guests, non-members and dogs. Should you decide to bring your dog(s), please make sure that he/she remains leashed. Please RSVP through our website or through Meetup if you are planning on participating.
